Farewell, "friends"...

Have to leave this place which i have been for nearly five years. It is the second longest time i lived in a flat, following the Sai Kung one and other than the Yuen Long home, where i passed my childhood and most of the teenage, and grew up.
The number of books stored in Hang Hau had never been counted until i really had to decide what was to be left and what removed in the wake of my relocation to Shanghai. Up to 600-700 books were estimated to be there. Over half of them had to be given away. They were my friends, though not all of them were of the very close type. Some i fell in love in the first sight but didn't feel so much like when i got to know them more.

Some sort of predestiny is needed between a bookowner preferably a hardworking and persistent one, and a book in order to bring them together - to read and to be read. It is a bit regretful that i had not taken enough initiative to understand these friends - some are Professor Dictionary and some Dr Fiction - before i sent them to an orphanage of books in North Point. Hope someone with a heart can read through them and benefit from the "friendship".
Bon voyage, dear Friends!

Pork Ribs Soup

Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No.2 and pork ribs soup seem incompatible. Yet they added to the tranquility of this afternoon, on the first day of 2008. Purely out of my impulse instantly, i chose to play the music chiefly played by Sviatoslac Richter who may be as "cold" as the freezing weather. (Karajan is cool!) The soup flavour pack, melted in the water and pinches of onion, mushroom, garlic, white carrot... gave a warm and rich Chinese herb-like aroma. The encounter of the cold and warm. Will enjoy the soup, my debut in following the famous Malay food receipe. Will cherish these few hours of peace even more... ... cheers.
